Stella & Dot - Breast Cancer Awareness Support - October 2018

In support of breast cancer awareness month, Stella & Dot is proud to partner with Bright Pink, an organization focused on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women.

From now through October 31, 2018, Stella & Dot will donate 20% of the retail purchase price of eligible sales of the Tribute Bracelet to Bright Pink.

Both of my grandmothers fought and survived breast cancer, so this cause is near and dear to my heart. My doctor also informed me at my annual exam this year that I would start needing to get mammograms at 35 (which is about 2.5 years away)!

When you sponsor a pouf (cute little bag!) for $28, I will use my commission to fill each one with care items to help ease with the chemotherapy treatment.

The Brobe + Project Pink Fashion Show

I was recently asked to donate swag for a breast cancer awareness event in Austin - Project Pink (If you're in town on September 21 - you should go! More details below!), and because this cause is near and dear to my heart, I was more than happy to say yes! When meeting with the event coordinator, Allison Schickel, she introduced to me an amazing product that she created herself - the Brobe!

The Brobe actually originated from a need for a bra built-in to a robe for more coverage and support while getting ready that didn't involve putting on a sports bra (or any other type of bra) and wouldn't cause the infamous "boob sweat"! Now... another exciting event that I would love to share is the Project Pink Fashion Show benefiting Susan G. Komen - Austin! The event is taking place on Saturday, September 21 at the W Hotel Austin from 10:30am-1:00pm.

You can help fight cancer and celebrate survivorship with friends at the most charitable fashion event of the Fall season! The Brobe and 2nd Street District present Project Pink, a runway show like no other benefiting Komen Austin. You'll enjoy brunch, mimosas and an unforgettable display of creative talent all for a great cause.

Project Pink will feature the work of talented local design students from UT, The Art Institute, Austin School of Fashion and McCullum High School, all modeled by local breast cancer survivors. The students were challenged with using vintage Komen Austin Race for the Cure t-shirts combined with various fabrics to create a fashionable and fun runway look. The judges for the fashion show will include Allison Schickel with The Brobe, founder of Austin Fashion Week Matt Swinney and Sarah McLaughlin Reed of Sarah Eileen.
